When should I change my oil?
For most contemporary street motorcycles, oil changes are recommended every 4,000 miles or every six months, whichever comes first. However, if you frequently ride aggressively or in demanding conditions, more frequent oil changes may be necessary. For side-by-side (SXS) vehicles, we advise changing the oil every 50 hours of operation. While this might seem excessive, maintaining clean oil is crucial for optimal SXS performance and longevity.Any shock tuning tips and tricks?
Proper sag adjustment is essential for achieving optimal handling and feel on both street and motocross motorcycles. Sag refers to the amount the suspension compresses from its fully extended position when the rider is seated on the vehicle. For fine-tuning suspension performance, most motorcycles, side-by-sides (SXS), and ATVs feature adjustable compression and rebound damping on both forks and shocks. Increasing compression damping will result in a firmer ride, while adjusting rebound damping controls how quickly or slowly the suspension returns to its extended position after compression. Is my battery dead?
To determine if your battery is functioning properly, use a multimeter set to measure DC voltage. A healthy battery should register approximately 14.2 volts. Any battery reading below 12 volts is likely to result in suboptimal performance, such as difficulty starting the engine or slow cranking. My bike/unit will start and run, but runs poorly and wants to stall or quit at idle or when coming to a stop. Any suggestions?
Several maintenance tasks may address these symptoms. Consider performing a carburetor cleaning, replacing the fuel and fuel filter, installing new spark plugs, conducting a general tune-up, or adjusting the valves. These procedures can often resolve issues related to poor idling and stalling.
